Let’s be honest—our kids’ screen time is starting to rival that of NASA mission control. Between the iPads, YouTube rabbit holes (pun intended), and video game marathons, it’s getting harder to convince our little Jackrabbits—and Lady Jackrabbits, of course—to blink in natural light.

But here’s the good news: Forney and the surrounding towns are packed with fun, affordable, and downright adorable places where kids can run, play, build, bounce, and laugh without ever asking, "Can I have your phone?"

We did the digging (like proper Jackrabbits) to round up the best kid‑friendly spots that don’t suck—and yes, we’ve weeded out the boring ones. Whether you’ve got toddlers with energy that could power the grid or tweens glued to Minecraft, we’ve got your weekend—or weekday—planned.

🎭 Eden Playhouse (Sunnyvale)

An absolute gem just a short hop from Forney, Eden Playhouse is like a toddler fever dream—mini grocery stores, pint-sized fire stations, dress-up closets, tiny kitchens, and even a pint-sized vet clinic. It’s the kind of place where your kid can pretend to be a doctor, a firefighter, and a barista all before snack time. Great for kids 6 and under, and honestly, kind of adorable for grownups too.

☕ Zoe & Emma’s Cafe (Terrell)

Finally—a cafĂ© that gets it. Zoe & Emma’s serves up lattes and lunch in one room and lets your kids loose in the next. The indoor play space is clean, cute, and filled with toys that don’t make obnoxious sounds. You can actually finish your sandwich while your toddler plays chef or builds a block tower taller than themselves. Think of it as a spa day, but with chicken nuggets and WiFi.

đŸ–Œ Spellman Museum of Forney History (Forney)

Don’t sleep on this one. Tucked behind City Hall, the Spellman Museum is surprisingly hands-on. Vintage school desks, old fire engines, and a spooky jail cell kids love to pretend they’re “locked in” for crimes like excessive whining. It’s free (donations welcome), air-conditioned, and even kinda cool for grownups who like old maps and stories about “the way Forney used to be.”

🐐 Coffee & Cuddles at Goat Ranch Coffee Co. (Forney)

Yes, you read that right: Goats + Coffee. Located just on the edge of town, Goat Ranch Coffee Co. has a relaxed outdoor area where you can sip a cold brew while the kids meet friendly goats, chickens, and more. Occasionally they host goat yoga or craft days, but even on a regular afternoon, it’s just good, weird fun. Bonus: The banana bread slaps.

🎡 YesterLand Farm (Canton)

This one’s more of a weekend outing, but worth it. Old-fashioned amusement park meets petting zoo meets roadside carnival—but better. In the fall it’s pumpkins and hayrides, in the spring it’s baby animals and Ferris wheels, and in the summer they throw foam parties, bubble zones, and mini zip lines into the mix. They even have an “old west” town with live shows. Feels like stepping into a storybook—with funnel cake.

🏆 BONUS: Create the "No-Roblox Challenge"

Make it a game. Print out a card that says:

“Today I didn’t play Roblox. Instead I
”

Then let your kid fill in the blank each day you do something new. Whoever gets five different activities first gets to pick dinner or win a $5 gas station snack run.
