Homecoming Hype: Forney Comes Back Big, Royse City Heads Home Sad πŸˆπŸŽ‰

FORNEY β€” City Bank Stadium was packed Friday night for Homecoming β€” sequins shining, mums clanging, and half the crowd trying not to trip over ribbons longer than the field goal net. And after a slow start, the Jackrabbits made sure all that glitter had a happy ending.

Down 19–3 in the first half, Forney decided they’d had enough embarrassment for one evening and flipped the switch, storming back to beat Royse City 40–26 in front of a roaring home crowd.

The star of the night? Javian Osborne, who ran like someone told him the concession stand was giving out free funnel cakes at the end zone β€” racking up 307 yards and two touchdowns. Every time Royse City thought they’d stopped him, he politely disagreed.

Quarterback Nelson Peterson Jr. had himself a night too, throwing for 277 yards and three touchdowns, including a crucial 28-yard bomb to Wyatt Williams that gave Forney the lead early in the fourth. The two-point conversion to Imari Jahiel had the student section chanting like they’d just won state β€” and maybe a little prematurely, but we’ll allow it.

Royse City fought back with some fancy double-lateral trick play magic to tie the game, but Forney answered fast. Osborne busted loose for a 38-yard touchdown, then added a 15-yarder for good measure. By that point, the Jackrabbits were rolling, and the Bulldogs were just ready to go home.

Preston Jackson hauled in 145 yards and a touchdown, reminding everyone that Forney’s passing game can sting too.

Final score: Forney 40, Royse City 26.
The mums were heavy, the spirit was high, and the Jackrabbits made sure this Homecoming ended with a bang β€” not a whimper.
