Forney Launches Full Holiday Mode: Tree Lighting on Dec. 4 & Christmas on Main Dec. 6
FORNEY, Texas — If you’ve been waiting for the official signal that it’s socially acceptable to blast Christmas music, drink hot chocolate at 9 a.m., and wear sweaters even if it’s 78 degrees outside… the moment has arrived. Downtown Forney is kicking off the holiday season with two big events you definitely shouldn’t miss.
🎄 Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony — December 4 at 6 p.m. (Bell Park)
Forney’s Christmas spirit goes from “preheating” to “full sparkle mode” on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m., when the beloved Downtown Tree Lighting Ceremony returns to Bell Park.
Expect Christmas music, free hot chocolate, and a cameo from jolly ol’ St. Nick himself. (Yes—the real one. No guarantees on beard tugging.) The tree is reportedly gorgeous this year, and according to eyewitness accounts, “you don’t want to miss its inaugural lighting.” Translation: even your camera roll will feel festive.
🎅 Christmas on Main — December 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Downtown Forney)
If you think you can only handle one holiday event per week, think again. Christmas on Main is back on Saturday, Dec. 6, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This all-day celebration fills Downtown Forney with holiday vendors, handmade crafts, food, music, and all the festive energy you can handle.
It’s the perfect place to:
- Knock out gift shopping
- Sample food you definitely didn’t plan to eat
- Let the kids burn off December-level excitement
- Pretend you’re only “window shopping” but still leave with three bags
Organizers promise another great year, and if past events are any indication, expect a crowd, good vibes, and a whole lot of Christmas cheer.
