Forney High School Homecoming Parade Rolls Into Town October 4th

Forney, Texas — Clear the streets and polish up your lawn chairs — Forney High School’s annual Homecoming Parade is set to roll through downtown Forney on Saturday, October 4, at 9:00 a.m.

Expect the usual suspects: cheerleaders cheering, football players waving like celebrities, the Forney High School Band blasting tunes loud enough to wake up anyone who thought they’d sleep in on a Saturday. And of course, the floats — some built with serious engineering, others held together with duct tape and school pride.

The parade isn’t just for students. Local businesses, community groups, and alumni will also join the lineup, turning downtown into a moving block party. Word on the street is that candy will be tossed — so bring a bag, or better yet, send your kids to do the running.

Anyone who wants to march, ride, or throw candy still has time: parade registration is open until September 26.

The event kicks off Homecoming Week, which means a week of pep rallies, themed outfits, and enough spirit to power the city if ERCOT ever goes down again. It all leads up to the big football game, where the Jackrabbits will try to prove that the parade isn’t the only thing that can draw a crowd.

Parking will be tight, so show up early, grab a spot, and prepare to wave until your arm gets tired.

For parade route info or registration, check the Forney High School website or Forney ISD’s social media.
