FORNEY, TX — The City of Forney has announced a new initiative aimed at expanding local parks and improving trail access across the community. City officials unveiled early plans during Tuesday’s council meeting, citing community feedback and rapid population growth as key motivators.

The proposal includes adding two new walking trails, expanding green space at Bell Park, and investing in shaded areas and water fountains to improve accessibility for families and seniors.

"Forney families deserve more spaces to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors," said Parks Director Jaime Sandoval. "This plan is about growing with the city while preserving what makes Forney feel like home."

Public forums will be held throughout July to gather community input, with the first scheduled for July 15 at the Forney Community Center.
